On the woodland territory of 204 acres ancient land surface of the Volga Uplands is fairly well preserved. A small area retains the traces of the geological chronicles and the history of the formation of the flora. The crests of the hills are combined from the powerful massifs of drain and granular quartz sandstone belonging to an ancient top plateau, appeared on a day surface as a result of a tectonic raising, happened about 30 million years ago so far remained only partially. The height of Skripinsk Kuchury is 317 m above sea level, approaching the maximum height of the Volga Uplands. Under the influence of physical weathering sandstone collapses, forming clumps of fancy fantastic shapes.
